Eating Through Bali

Tasting menu after tasting menu, plates that look like art, and clifftop dinners as the sun goes down. Bali fed us very, very well.

Eating Through Bali

Bali surprised me. Beyond the beaches and the villas, the food was a genuine highlight: course after course of beautiful, inventive plates in some of the dreamiest settings I have ever eaten in. If you love a long, lingering dinner, you are going to love it here.

The fine dining

The tasting menus

We worked our way through tasting menus that were equal parts beautiful and delicious. Delicate canapes to start, fresh ceviche and tartare, then plate after artful plate. Book at least one, it really is the whole experience.

Worth the splurge · Reserve the tasting menu ahead and ask for a sunset table. Dinner and a show in the best way.
Course by course

Plate after plate

Every course arrived prettier than the last. The kind of food you photograph from three angles before anyone is allowed to touch it. Share everything so you get to taste it all.

For the girls · Go as a group and order family-style. More plates, more tastes, more photos.
The sweet course

Desserts like sculptures

The desserts arrived looking like little sculptures, almost too beautiful to dive into. Almost. Save room, because you will want every single bite.

Tia's tip · Always leave space for dessert here. It is consistently the showstopper.
On the cliffs

Dinner with a view

Pair all that food with a clifftop table as the sun melts into the ocean and you have the most romantic dinner of the whole trip. We left tanned, well fed and completely smitten.

The money shot · Time your booking for golden hour. The light over the water makes everything, including the food, look unreal.
